KB Gallery’s Print Lab Project is a “community” printmaking facility equipped with two etching presses which are available for use upon completion of a basic safety course.  Throughout the summer the Print Lab will feature free monoprint demonstrations every Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.  Additionally, the gallery offers limited edition prints of children or adult images drawn directly from a copper plate and processed from the print lab.  This opportunity is available in person or online, and the images make fabulous high quality gifts for family and friends.

Liz Johnson & Robin Tilton

Liz Johnson is known for her serigraphs, etchings, collagraphs and monoprints and has over 47 years printmaking experience.  She has exhibited her work at the Denver Museum of Art, Florence Event Center, and various galleries in Colorado.  Her works are in collections worldwide and she has conducted various workshops in printmaking, bookmaking, and papermaking.  Robin Tilton works in printmaking, photography, collage, watercolor, and mixed-media.

Together Liz and Robin have been sharing a vision of exploring the creative process through printmaking for eight years.  They describe this experience as being a dance, where they spontaneously interact through the medium of colored ink, the mechanics of the press, and the reaction of this effect on paper.  Additionally Liz and Robin explore expressive drawing, book binding, and watercolor at Robin Tilton’s Limpet Lane Press in Florence.

SK Lindsey
