ARTIST STATEMENT

Experiencing the magnificence, celebration, and gratitude of living where the land greets the sea influences my monotypes. The western edge of the continent presents ever shifting sands, roaring energetic waves, stillness of prehistoric lava, expansive horizons, intimate estuaries, rivers flowing to the sea, morning fog, dramatic sunsets, remains of shells, kelp, driftwood, spirited harbor seal conversations, bird calls and discussions.

These are my inspirations.

Living on the edge is also the experience of risk taking, walking a fine line, a dynamic place to be, hoping for the best, uncertainty, hanging on, nurturing creativity, letting go, one foot in front of the other, having someone to hold your hand, and growing new roots.
