Florence Spoken Word

Call to poets throughout the region! Florence's Spoken Word organizes a monthly contest with a "winner take all" up to $250 cash prize for the first place.  Poets may register 1 poem which must be read under three minutes.  The last event drew over 26 poets who delivered many thought provoking and animated performances.

The goal of the Florence Spoken Word events are to organize, stimulate and unify regional poets through the synergy of these creative and insightful poetry readings.

If the event generates more than $250 in entry fees, the proceeds will go towards future events, possibly 2nd and 3rd place prizes, and the publication of a chap book portraying all winning poems alongside 12 donated works of art created at the Kenneth B Gallery.

Jurors will change monthly and are eligible to participate in previous or future contests.
